Homemade Vanilla with Vodka

There is nothing to get long-winded about with this Vanilla Extract because the flavor speaks for itself! And, it is a breeze to make!

When it is ready to use, you can try it out with freshly baked cookies!

Homemade Vanilla with Vodka

Yield: 1 Pint
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 1 year
Total Time: 1 year 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Pint Jar with lid
  • 10 Madagastgar Vanilla Beans
  • 2 cups Vodka

Instructions

Wash and Dry your pint jar with lid.

Slice the Vanilla beans open and then cut them in half so they will be fully submerged in the Vodka.

Add to jar.

Add Vodka leaving one inch of headspace. (It will take just shy of two cups)

Tighten the lid.

Shake!

Store in a dark place for 9 months to a year, giving the jar a shake a few times a month.

Once you start using the Vanilla, keep the jar topped off with Vodka. It will last you for many years!
